About Field Trip Festival
2017 marks the fifth anniversary of Torontos Field Trip Music & Arts Festival.
In fact, the first edition of Field Trip was itself an anniversary party, as that year we celebrated 10 years of iconic Canadian independent music company Arts & Crafts.
In 2013 the then one-day event featured two stages curated entirely from Arts & Crafts artist roster, co-headlined by a return from hiatus for flagship collective Broken Social Scene alongside 11-time JUNO Award and 2012 Polaris Music Prize winner Feist (sound familiar?).
Today Arts & Crafts and Live Nation partner on an event thats about so much more, championing creativity and community in its many forms, and a celebration of diversity and the city of Toronto.
Field Trip was built around the themes of discovery and community. In addition to world-class musical performances, the festival will incorporate local art, gourmet food and unique elements of Torontos proud culture, Jeffrey Remedios, co-founder and then president of Arts & Crafts said in 2013 (thought it remains every bit as true today). Field Trip is a celebration of Toronto, of community and above all else, of the collaborative spirit.
That commitment means programming that crosses genre and generation, with family and comedy performances and programming in the heart of downtown Toronto at the citys historic Fort York & Garrison Common.
Among the many acts that have visited we have been proud to host Broken Social Scene, Feist, Robyn, Alabama Shakes, The National, My Morning Jacket, Interpol,The War On Drugs, Kevin Drew, Gord Downie, Constantines, Arkells, July Talk, Father John Misty, De La Soul, Hayden, Trust, The Kills, Vance Joy, Purity Ring, Jazz Cartier, Santigold, Sharon & Bram, Charles Bradley, Of Montreal and so many more.
