Review Of 420 Music Festival And It Was Lit

420 Music & Arts Festival

Location: Distortion, Calgary, Alberta

Walking up to the venue I couldnt help but notice the prominent smell of ganja outside the building, I mean it was 420. Upon entering the venue the decibel levels were through the roof, Distortion was raging! Booths were set up near the entrance selling merchandise from the live acts and 420 inspired paraphernalia. The guitar riffs were shredding and drums were pounding some serious bass. Many of the patrons were wearing ear plugs, stoner rock was in full effect! I stood near the stage where the amps were deafening and couldnt hear myself talk, my ears were ringing. The floor was literally rumbling as bands such as Mendozza, Buffalo Bud Buster and La Chinga were slaying on stage. The night capped off with a DJ set from Brant Bjork that was totally psychedelic. The crowd was very responsive raging out in respectful manner. Im totally going to go back next year and head bang into oblivion!
